I am almost finished with vet tech school, five weeks left and then on to my externship at a veterinary hospital. I still don't know where I want to go yet so I have to figure that out soon. I have one of the best GPAs in the program too! I am happy... in fact, this is the happiest I've ever been in my life. Jeff and I have been together for 5yrs now and are going to get married within the next year or two and plan on starting a family. He is my best friend and my rock. I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for him constantly be a source of encouragement, and sometimes kicking me in the ass when I need it! My menagerie of reptiles has really grown. I've had many rescues come and go, some going to a new home and some being to sick to make it. It's hard work but it's very rewarding. I now have 19 snakes total (17 ball pythons, 1 rainbow boa, and 1 hognose), 3 regular redfoot and 2 cherryhead redfoot tortoises, and 7 various species of box turtles. I also raise my own rodents, mainly for the snakes. Don't be alarmed! I humanely euthanize most of them, but I have some snakes that won't eat anything but a live mice or rat. It's a pain in the ass, but it's worth it. I intend on starting my own ball python breeding business in the future. I want to make high end color morphs available to people at more reasonable prices. I've seen ball python morphs range from $25-$45,000, no joke! There are several morphs in the lower end of that spectrum that I want to breed. My critters are my kids, but I still can't wait til I have kids of my own. I haven't had much time to do anything art related since school started almost 18mo ago. I try to do a little photography when I can. I know everyone enjoys pics of my animals so I promise to post more when I get the chance. I hope you all are well!
<3 Dana.
